TCA Peel

Trichloroacetic Acid (CCl3COOH) is an extremely effective and popular stand-alone Keratolytic Therapy that treats the strongest of skin-damage:

  • wrinkles
  • premature aging
  • uneven skin tone
  • severe acne scars
  • hyper-pigmentation
  • visible and clogged pores
  • environmental/sun damage
  • discoloration of all skin types

The unparalleled efficacy of our various Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) peels regularly result in the extreme exfoliation of epidermal connective tissues. The chemistry behind the effectiveness of TCA is chemically simple – the three Chlorine atoms attached to the acetate group act as superchargers for a predictable and, upon higher strength, a more potent peel. TCA has been proven to treat every skin disorder from warts to a lackluster shine.

Many chemical peel companies would like to advertise that their TCA products will remove tattoos, but Dermalure maintains the position that such claims are inaccurate, unlikely and unfair to customers who are seeking true solutions to their skincare problems. If you are trying to remove tattoo scars, please contact a Medical Doctor specializing in tattoo removal procedures. Chemical peels may fade some surfaces of tattoos, but it is widespread industry knowledge through vast clinical trials that tattoo removal is not effective via chemical peel procedures.

How does it work?

Unlike other peels, TCA exfoliates the skin instantaneously upon contact with the skin. The immediate and long-lasting outcomes make it a perfect peel for people who prefer less peeling sessions at the cost of moderate downtime. Due to TCA’s antibacterial qualities, it is a perfect plan for victims of chronic acne vulgaris.

Which TCA Peel is Right for me?

True, the practical implications of TCA are many, but we recommend that the skin get acclimated and accustomed to TCA peel exposure on a regular regiment. Therefore, we recommend that beginners start with a peel that has a lower concentration of TCA and higher pH, slowly working up to a peel that has a higher concentration of Glycolic Acid and a lower pH. If you are unsure how sensitive your skin is to chemical peels, then please start with the lowest concentration peel possible and work your way up. People with sensitive skin should do a spot test before proceeding to a full face peel.

Additional Information on TCA Peels:

Cycles:  TCA  peels are most effective when used regularly. Most people conduct 4-6 cycles of TCA peels before working up into a monthly or bi-weekly regiment or before using higher concentrations of the acid. Results are noticeable after one session of using TCA peels, while gradual improvements in skin texture, look and feel will surface over time.

Side Effects: R&D has surfaced a temporary itching and burning sensation, heingtened skin sensitivity, flaking, light frosting, redness, swelling, and inflammation. Aggressive high SPF sunscreen use is crucial for post-peel comfort and skin safety.

Storage Instructions: Store the TCA in a cool, dry, dark area far from sun light as the sun will oxidize the solution, rendering it damaged.

Warning: Please consult with a physician or dermatologist before applying this skin peel. Any chemical peel should be administered by a professional only, as it is intended only for professional use. Please regularly apply high SPF sunscreen post peel. Please spot test before conducting a full face peel. Please seek professional assistance in applying the chemical peel. At-home applications by non-professionals are not recommended or endorsed by Dermalure or any of its subsidiaries. No instructions are not full-proof as the chemical peel will not work the same with everyone, so please seek physician and dermatologist consultations before administering any chemical peel yourself.

Sunburn Safety: This product contains Alpha Hydroxy acids (AHAs) that could increase skin sensitivity to the sun, increasing the risk of sunburn with or without proper protection.
